Neat thing i learned abt cybertronians, they should use it for bee :]
i was asked if i want to join friends on a night out, and while i am honored, what the fuck do you do when youre “out”? this might be the most autistic thought i have ever thunk.
okay but the BEST part of the first study discussed (conducted by an autistic person!) Is that it shows that while easy, calm, mutual communication and social interaction is often more natural between two autistic people than it is between an autistic person and a non-autistic person, it is ALSO like this when an autistic person encounters a non-autistic person who imitates the autistic individualâs behaviours- neurotypical parents copying autistic childrenâs play, for example, apparently receive more positive engagement from their child- which is SERIOUSLY FUCKING IMPORTANT and VERY VERY GOOD because it is, once again, scientific evidence that bullshit like aversion therapy and enforced conformance and FUCKING âquiet handsâ arenât âââââsolutions to the autism problemâââââ and that âââââproblemsââââ with autism donât stem from BEING autistic, but rather, from how NON AUSTISTIC PEOPLE TREAT AUTISTIC PEOPLE.
IE, once again, there is nothing bad or wrong about being autistic
As my mom put it when she got sick of listening to acquaintance âAâ whine about how autistic person âBâ they both knew âreally lacks communication skillsâ and âdoesnât really understand other peopleâ (B has excellent but specific communication skills, and merely refuses to engage in âpoliteâ but ultimately unhelpful social behavior), and how frustrating it was for A, as a âprofessional communications advisiorâ and self-described empath, to work with B:
âWell if YOUâRE so goddamn good at communication and empathy, why donât YOU learn to how to communicate and empathize with HER instead?â
Genuinely the posts where people collate and juxtapose a bunch of different media texts to convey an idea with all the citations at the bottom are the best thing to have come out of this site in the entire eight years I’ve been on here. It’s so sexy. Intertextuality is genuinely one of the things that I go feral for without hesitation and I adore it it’s such a good use of the medium I hope it never stops
idk guys maybe we should try calling the amazon rain forest “sovereign indigenous lands” more often because i’m still seeing people talk about it like some sort of vast terra nullis where there are only animals–you know, like a colonialist
There are lots of indigenous people and tribes here, and their culture is shared a lot in my hometown — I’m from Manaus which is a city literally in the middle of the Amazon rainforest. So, yeah, people need to stop talking like that.
steven is a really funny character actually. he never went to school. one of his powers is astral projection for no real reason. hes a musical prodigy. he was so traumatized by the end of the show they had to make an entire epilogue series about it. he spent seven years looking like a 3rd grader. he was even bisexual
he went to the center of the earth. he saved the world in flip flops. he broke his bones every day and didnt even notice. he killed someone
he didn’t have a bellybutton. he actively chose to eat super crispy bits of potato that got left in the deep fryer. he lived in a house but his dad lived in a car within walking distance of his house. he could revive people from the dead. all of his clothes were concert merchandise. he had an outdoor washing machine. he was put on trial for murder. he broke both federal and state child labor laws
The murder he was on trial for was different than the murder he committed
The murder he went on trial for was a murder his mom committed. The victim of the murder was also his mom.
